Sunday Post: October days

Connecting with others to talk about books plus a little about our personal lives

Sunday-Post

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Personal life

Weather in the 80’s this week, but rain and cooler weather over this weekend and next week. Even if it rains it’s so nice to get outside when it’s cooler.

When we got out and about this last week we saw lots of harvesting plus tractors taking corn and soybeans to grain silos.

Geronimo

Geronimo, my daughter’s cat died this week. My husband and I took care of him several times for extended periods when our daughter deployed when she was in the Army plus we were there when she picked out her two kittens–Geronimo and Gato. So it felt like we were losing one of our cats, too. She asked us to come over and for me to come to the vet with her. He was 15 years old and he was losing weight so she knew the end was coming for him, but it came faster than she had anticipated.

Geronimo was such a special cat–he was an escape artist and a jumper. He loved to get on top of kitchen cabinets and learned to open downward lever door knobs as well as any door not latched completely. He was so smart and had so much personality. Geronimo and Olaf were good friends and visited each other regularly. He is missed.

Birthday Parties
Deviled Eggs

We celebrated my niece’s birthday on Saturday. We took her out to dinner Saturday night. (The deviled eggs were the first course.)

Next weekend we’re celebrating our younger daughter’s birthday. I’ll make a cake and she’s requested pot roast and mashed potatoes for dinner. I’m still trying to decide upon a birthday gift.

Fire pit

We’ve had a couple of fire pits already this fall. I love an outdoor fire during cooler weather.

Blog

Not much happening on my blog the last couple of weeks. My daughter has visited several weekends so the weekends are busy. And it has been busy during the week, too. I do plan to visit blogs this next week and catch-up with people.
