Sunday Post: Another batch of cookies

Connecting with others to talk about books plus a little about our personal lives

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Personal life

It’s starting to warm up here! On Friday the temperatures got to about 25 degrees. By the middle of next week it might be 40 degrees! But first we’re getting more snow this Sunday morning. People to the north of us will get more snow, but where we live we could get 2-6 inches of snow today. Winter hasn’t ended yet!

I’ve been eligible for the vaccine for a while, but haven’t been able to get an appointment. Finally, I’ve got one for Tuesday and the second appointment for the middle of March. It’s a relief to get started though I know many people are still waiting for their vaccine.

Kitchen pack-up

We started sorting, throwing away, decluttering and donating stuff from our kitchen last weekend and continued during the week. We’re trying to just keep things we’ll need to use for the next two or three months. We want to get as much stuff off the counters as we can.

We packed my mixer, so I made one last batch of cookies–Peanut Butter Chocolate Chippers! I’ve made many batches of cookies during the pandemic and sent them to my kids.

Blog Life

I didn’t get to visit many blogs or answer many comments. That might be the norm for the next few weeks as we sort, pack and clean the house.

  1. The kitchen is my favorite thing to pack and organize and PB choc chip are the best! I might make monster cookies this week which are PB oatmeal choc chip. The snow is so pretty but I’m glad to not deal with it as often here. Good luck with the packing / sorting. That can be great audiobook time. Happy reading!

    1. The kitchen in our present house is quite small so I’m looking forward to the kitchen in our new house which will have a lot more space. I’m about ready for the snow to melt! We’ve had about 55 inches of snow this winter which is a lot more than normal.

  2. Best of luck with all that packing and sorting – no wonder you’re not in the business of visiting blogs right now! Those cookies look delicious – though you can keep the snow. I hope the weather warms up soon… Have a good week, Jan:)

    1. Thanks, Sarah! My job this week is to pack up my craft room. I’m ready to start getting warmer weather, for the snow to melt and to see my bulbs starting to come up!

      1. Yes… I always think February is the most miserable month of the winter – it seems we’ve been stuck with the cold, gloomy weather for far too long! Best of luck with packing up your craft room:).

  3. That is a good news about the vaccine! I got my second shot couple of weeks ago and it has given me some peace of mind. I wish more ppl were open about it and got them, whenever possible instead of questioning their efficacy and authenticity.

  4. I can’t wait for Dustborn! I love Erin Bowman’s books – she always writes books that are right up my alley. There’s a preorder campaign for it if you want free goodies for buying it. Happy reading!

  5. I’m so glad you’re getting your vaccine! We got our first shot a little over a week ago. I’m looking forward to the second at the end of the month (though maybe not the side effects.)

Good luck with your packing and moving. It seems like only a few years since you moved from the East Coast to where you are now. I hope the current move works out well for you. (Oh, and those cookies look delicious.)

  6. I am glad you were able to get an appointment for your first vaccine. I hope it goes well. You made my favorite type of cookies! I haven’t had peanut butter chocolate chip cookies in ages. I hope the sorting and packing goes well. I hope you enjoy your new books! The Deadly Mystery of the Missing Diamonds keeps calling my name. I may have to add that to my TBR pile. I hope you have a great week!

  7. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chippers sound absolutely amazing! I may have to do some baking soon. 25 is still way to cold for this wimpy Southerner! 40 isn’t much better honestly! Yay for getting your appointments set. I hope it goes smoothly with minimal side effects. Have a great week!
