Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.
Personal life
I spent a lot of last week getting ready to go to Chicago for our niece’s wedding. I don’t wear dresses much anymore so I had to find the dress I had in mind to wear, make sure it didn’t need cleaning, that it still fit and find all the stuff to wear with it and make sure they fit! Then we had to get up at 5:00 a.m. on Friday to drive to Chicago. Now that we’re back home I’m ready for some rest!
Chicago wedding

We just got back from the Chicago wedding for one of our nieces. The wedding was beautiful and lots of fun. It was held outside at a nature preserve and was a little breezy which helped since it was also humid! Afterward the reception was held at an Irish bar. It was a large Irish bar and the entire bar was rented for the reception for five hours! Very nice to talk to people, sample appetizer foods, drink some Guinness, watch people dancing upstairs.
All the activities related to the wedding occurred near the Chicago River so we stayed at a hotel near the river. The pictures above show the river.
Blog life
I didn’t get as much done on my blog as I’d planned. I was distracted trying to remember what I needed to do for our trip as well as having a number of appointments to take care of.

What have you been doing? What are your plans next week?
I’m glad you had a nice trip even if now you are glad to be home. I feel that way. I enjoy the trip but then I have things at home I want done too. I wish it would cool down here a bit more and be more autumn. Have a lovely week and enjoy some good books!

Thanks, Anne. It was a great trip, but so nice to be back home. It is cooler here than last week so I’m happy. We’re supposed to get quite a lot of rain this week, but that’s okay with me!

The wedding sounds fun even though you had to get up at 5AM! I don’t function very well if I h ave to get up before 6 and even that is iffy. I love the cover for Please Don’t Feed the Mayor! Have a great week!
