Sunday Post: July 28

Sunday-Post

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Personal life

Cooler this week. I especially loved the cool mornings (55-60 degree range all week). I think hotter weather is on it’s way. That’s what a Midwest summer is all about!

Travel in the Midwest

I spent most of the week in Indiana with one of my daughter’s. We had so much fun together. On Friday we drove to Iowa to spend the weekend with our family. We’re going to celebrate a retirement and celebrate a life lived well.

We’re driving home on Sunday evening, then leaving again on Thursday for a long weekend in northern Wisconsin.

RAGBRAI (The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa)

A group of my sister-in-law’s family rode this year in RAGBRAI. I’ve never done RAGBRAI, but a number of my husband’s family have ridden in it through the years. In recent years the organizers have had to limit the size to 8,500 bicyclists since it’s gotten so popular.

Blog life

A few posts done this week including a review of a book I read in February for Booker T’s Farm “They Call It Puppy Love” Challenge. It was such a fun book.

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. I’m excited to listen to the Linda Holmes book. It sounds like fun and I listen to Pop Culture Happy Hour sometimes and she’s great on that podcast so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy her book! I hope you get to read it soon, too.

  2. I LOVE RAGBRAI! I have done the whole thing 15 times and parts many other years. I last did all of it in 2010 and I did part in 2014. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years but now I live in NC so less likely I can get there. The first year I went was 1974!
