Sunday Post: Winter’s not over!

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Personal life

We had snow several days last week including last Saturday night when we got almost 10 inches of snow. We’re near a record for the amount of snowfall in February.

It warmed up on Saturday (to about 34 degrees!) and rained so we got some melting, but Saturday night we got some freezing rain and a little more snow. And next week it will get much colder again–a few days down near zero.

Daughter’s visit

One of my daughters spent the last week with us. She came here to attend a class for work. She drove and brought her two dogs with her. I had a great time with the dogs and they loved being outside in the snow. They chased after balls, each other, squirrels and even tried chasing the birds!

It was so much fun to see her and get to spend time with her. She had last Monday off since it was Presidents Day and we spent the day doing a little shopping. She needed a few more work clothes and I got a pair of jeans and a shirt. We had fun in the evenings catching up, talking and laughing together. So much fun. She has left for home and the house is quiet. 😦

Blog life

I’ve read five books during the month of February for They Call It Puppy Love Challenge that Barb @ Booker T’s Farm hosts during the month of February. I’ve reviewed two of them and hope to review one or two more of them before the end of February.

I’ve visited a few blogs, posted a couple of reviews and answered a few comments, but there’s lots more to do. This week I hope I have more time to read, work on my blog and visit other blogs.

  1. You got Honor Among Thieves??? It is a favorite of mine! I just finished the second book Honor Bound yesterday. I read it in one sitting! I really hope you’ll love it!

    1. I’m glad you like it, Sophie. I love when people tell me they’ve loved a book I get. I’m so glad I got the book and hope I can read it soon.

  2. I LOVE Spinning Silver and Exit Strategy. We all want more time to do … everything.

I’m happy you had a nice visit with your daughter and her pups. The snow looks beautiful but I’m glad we don’t have it. It’s easier than cold rain but colder. Finally we have some sun today.
I hope your week is amazing and you read the best books.

  3. Oh what fun to spend time with your daughter and her dogs. They look like they were having a blast out in the snow! I have Kitchen Yarns on my TBR though I don’t really know that much about it. Have a great week!

  4. Aww cute pics! It’s always fun when pets get to play in the snow! And speaking of snow, we have some too although we got lucky and didn’t get too much today. It was very windy though and we had a little hail. Isn’t winter fun? 🙂

Hope your new books are good. I really enjoyed the Murdrbot novellas.

  5. Those dogs are adorable. You must be the perfect dog grandparents because you always have dogs visiting. So glad you got to spend time with your daughter. Sorry you got hit with so much snow. We had SUPER high winds all day yesterday. I’m surprised we still have a roof. Over 10,000 in our county without power yesterday so I consider us lucky. Hope you loved “Rescue Me Maybe.” Also, I finished a book called “A Dog Called Jack” and just posted my review. You have to get a copy. I think you’d love it.

  6. I just got Exit Strategy today. I cannot wait to listen! You are and share similar weather stories. We tied a record and are very close to breaking another. Stay warm!
