Sunday Post: Oh, no it’s almost Valentine’s Day!

Sunday-Post

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Personal life

Scorch to the vet on Monday

More snow this last week and more for today through Tuesday. We’re taking one of our cats–Scorch–to the vet to get her teeth cleaned on Monday morning so I’m hoping the roads aren’t too bad on Monday (especially our long steep driveway).

Valentine’s Day

This week it’s Valentine’s Day and I somehow lost track of that. I planned to make Valentine’s cards to send to friends and relatives, but so far haven’t sent anything. I spent too much time making and sending my winter cards! I’m hoping to spend the snowy day on Sunday working to get my cards ready to mail so we can mail some Monday morning after we drop Scorch off at the vet.

Bookstore and scrapbook store

Since Saturday was our best day (weather-wise) to get out of the house for a few hours we went to a new used bookstore. My husband found four or five books! I got one book–Brushstrokes & Balladeers. It has western art and western poetry in it. I love western art by artists such as Charles Marion Russell and Frederic Remington. The book I found has art reminiscent of those early American western artists. I was a little disappointed there weren’t more old books in the bookstore, but it was a nice store and they had a beautiful and friendly German Shepherd!

Scrapbook store

I also noticed a scrapbook store in the same strip mall so I went and did a little shopping there. I found a few things to buy and it was fun to visit a store with lots of paper, ink and stamps. I haven’t visited a store devoted to those things for several years. I was especially excited to find a set of Iowa stamps!

Television

This week I talked my husband into watching Longmire with me. I’m enjoying watching it again and he’s enjoying it for the first time. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy it.

Blog life

I’m participating in They Call It Puppy Love Challenge that Barb @ Booker T’s Farm hosts during the month of February. I’ve already read two books for the challenge and am currently reading two more. Such a fun challenge.
