Sunday Post: Not so cool

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

My cooler weather didn’t last long. Most of the week it was in the 80’s and got more humid as the week went on. Saturday the temps were in the low 90’s. Next week  the temps in the 80’s are supposed to continue for most of the week. My autumn weather didn’t last long!

Allergies, lots of sleep and a little television

I spent a lot of the week fighting my allergies and feeling tired. I’m hoping I’ll feel more energized next week. My husband is playing in a bridge tournament all weekend and I’ve spent some of the weekend watching a mystery on Acorn called Tangled Lies. I didn’t realize when I started it that the series was in Italian with English subtitles! I don’t usually like subtitles since I usually watch television while I’m also doing something on my computer…lol. With Tangled Lies I wasn’t able to do that and, of course, the program quickly hooked me! I’ve watched three episodes so far and it’s good.

My husband and I are also watching the latest season of The Great British Baking Show on Netflix. This is the first season without Mary Berry and the two hosts (Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc) and I’m mourning the absence of all of them. Mary Berry is so good. I hope she shows up on some other cooking show. However, I have to admit I’m still enjoying the show.

Not too much done on my blog this week. I hope the allergies stay away and that next week will go better.

  1. I’m sorry your cooler weather didn’t last, and sorry too about your allergies. Those are no fun. I’m stuffed up myself, from the smoke in the air in Salt Lake City (where I am visiting, and where there are at least two sizable wildfires in the surrounding mountains.) Anyway, I hope you get your energy back soon!

  2. Thanks, Lark. It’s been a really hard summer for everyone in the west with the forest fires and the smoke. I hope you’re enjoying your visit in Salt Lake City even with the smoke.

  3. I am so sorry that your allergies are giving you so much hassle – and those temperatures sound exhausting! I was very sorry when Mary Berry, Sue and Mel all stepped away from The Great British Bakeoff – and worried that the show would look its magic. However, while it’s taking me a bit of time to fully warm to Pru, I do enjoy Sandy and Noah’s contribution. We have just started the second series here and I’m loving it:). I hope the coming week is far easier, Jan.

    1. Thanks, Sarah! I am enjoying The Great British Baking Show and agree that Sandy and Noah are great. I’m glad the second season is good!

  4. Our weather is similar except a wee bit hotter. Looks like another scorcher all next week. I’ll take it while it lasts. LOL And we are starting to get the green pollen so my allergies are kicking in too. It can get so thick here it piles up on the windshield of my car! Was checking out those new books. I’ve not read anything by Shannon Baker and they look good. Enjoy!

  5. Bitter Rain has me curious. We are back in the 90s this week, but don’t get a lot of humidity here. Ya know both m hubby and I have the snuffles, I never thought about allergies..hmm. Hope this week cools off and brings you unexpected joy.

  6. The books you got looks good! I have gotten caught up in Once Upon a Time on Netflix. I can’t watch subtitles which drives me crazy they won’t put them in English so I can just watch without reading, I don’t read fast enough most of the time. Missing some good crime dramas I am sure!

    1. Subtitles aren’t my favorite. I started to watch another that was originally in some other language and decided not to do it right now!

  7. I’m almost afraid to start the new Great British Bake-Off series because I love Mary, Sue, and Mel so much but if you’re enjoying it I’ll give it a chance! I hope you are having a great week!
