My thoughts

I’ve read all the books in this series so far and loved them all. I hope the author will write another book set in this universe. I can see lots of possibilities for more books with new characters or some of the characters already introduced in these books.

The characters in these books are all interesting and kept me turning the pages. I especially enjoy Ean. He’s a loyal and honest person and by the end of these three books he’s learned not to be as trusting as he was in book 1. I like a character that grows and changes–but I also like that he maintains his core values. I’ve liked getting to know all the different characters in these books–even some of the ones I didn’t like!

I also like the world building in these books. The way ships have different “lines” responsible for different actions on their ship is quite unique. Ean sings to the ships and the other Linesmen thinks he’s kooky until they discover that it works!

The action, adventure and political intrigue taking place in these books is a joy to read. I highly recommend this book and the series especially if you enjoy space opera.

My Rating: B+
