Sunday Post: February already?

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

I didn’t sleep much last night and finally got up at 4:00 a.m. this morning. I had a few things to do to this post so I decided to finish the post, publish it and link it to Kimberly’s blog. Ha! Not so easy.

I got the post ready and noticed that I’d lost the connection to the internet. Restarting the computer didn’t make any difference so I finally went back to bed and slept a little more. I woke up a little after 9 a.m. and decided to see if any of my changes were saved. If my changes hadn’t been saved I was going to scrub my Sunday Post for today–but they were all here…so here is my post just a little later than I’d hoped!

Another cold…ugh

I’ve gotten my second cold in less than a month. So frustrating. I’m having trouble sleeping and thus having trouble thinking since I’m so tired. At least it’s not the flu. This derailed some of my plans for my blog, but I will get things done as I can.

It’s also going to be snowy and cold this next week. This doesn’t bother me as much as my cold does since I know it’s February and that much closer to spring!

Rearranging & Reorganizing

Besides lots of Thanksgiving and Christmas activities during my time off from blogging, I’ve spent time rearranging and reorganizing my craft room and guest bedroom. I plan to start on my bedroom next. And I’m sorting more things to see what we really need. I plan to see what my kids want and give away and donate other things. I want to stop feeling weighed down by possessions. I’m also going through paperbacks and hardback books to see what books I can part with. I know this will be an ongoing process for me, but every little bit will help.

I’ve been away from my blog for a couple of months. I spent January thinking about my blog and what I want to do. I wrote a couple posts last week and plan more for next week. I plan to make some design changes to the blog and talk about a few things besides books. I continued to read when I wasn’t blogging and have already read some good books in 2018.

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. I’ve gone off on a tangent from my usual reads and read a couple of YA fantasies, and enjoyed the heck out of them. I think that the depressing weather and news on tv has pushed me to seek relaxation in totally made-up worlds 🙂

Your blog is very easy to read and find things on. Whatever changes you make to your style of blogging is up to you, as long as you have fun!

    1. I think it’s good to change what type of book you’re reading every now and then. And the news definitely makes me enjoy science fiction and fantasy more.

Thanks for the nice words about my blog, Kari!

  2. I am also wanting to change my blog a bit. I do hope you feel better. I had that happen to me get a cold then get another one before the first is already done. It is awful. I hope this week goes better for you!

    1. Thanks, Mary. I’m hoping I start feeling better, too. It’s a good time of the year to change things a little on our blogs.

  3. I hope you feel better soon! Enjoy the new books. I liked the JAK, and I’m always a Christie fan. Oh, and good luck with the reorganizing and decluttering! I’m working on some of that myself. It feels overwhelming, though.

    1. Thanks, Lark. I’ve just started the JAK and am liking it so far. The decluttering is overwhelming, but I hope to make some progress.

  4. A 2nd cold is not fun. Hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon. Going back to sleep after discovering the internet was down seems like a smart idea! You got some great books! I really enjoyed the Jayne Ann Krentz. Good luck with your reorganization and have a great week!

    1. I’m really tired of my cold and hope this is the last one for a while. I’ve started the Jayne Ann Krentz book and am enjoying it.
