Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.
Home and Blog
Another busy week. My allergies frustrated me all week since it keeps me blowing my nose even though I take allergy pills every day. My husband worked in the yard a lot this week. He found a few plants on sale including a small tree so those got planted plus the fence addition is finished and he’s working on a new flowerbed for me. I came outside and gave moral support! Luckily, all the plants were planted before the rains came! According to my rain gauge we got about three inches of rain over about three days. Since it was a dry summer it is really good to get rain and more is forecast for next week.
My husband is visiting his dad this weekend and I’m taking care of my daughter’s dogs while she’s out-of-town. They’re lots of company, but I’ve spent a lot of time drying off and wiping mud from the dogs’ feet! My daughter had a trial version of a meal delivery service she hadn’t had time to fix so I fixed the Tomato-Braised Cod. I haven’t tried any of these services before. The cod was good though I had to throw away some of the chard included in the box (received two days before).
Television
We watched more of Ken Burns’ Vietnam. Very intense, but very good. I watched the Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals baseball games on Friday and Saturday nights. One win for each team.
Blogging
I’m still trying to get more blogging done. I am reading some really good books which is great!

Haha! I hope your daughter’s dogs aren’t too much to handle! I left my three with my mom for three weeks recently and I felt kind of bad about it! XD Dark River Rising looks super interesting! Have a great week!

The dogs can be a handful, but having the fenced yard makes all the difference. Last summer we didn’t have a fence and it was stressful to take care of my kids’ dogs.

Ha! You daughter’s dogs sound like a little bit of a handful. But they are beautiful. You got some really good looking books, and I hope you enjoy them. 🙂

Thanks, Jenea! The dogs are a lot of fun. I really enjoy having them and they get me up and moving around when sometimes I would just sit and read or blog.

Aww, a weekend with doggies. I adore them, but the work and mess have kept me from getting another. 😦 Hope your week is a good one

My husband doesn’t want us to get a dog, Kimberly, but I get to have my daughter’s dogs over every now and then so that’s nice. Kind of the best of both worlds!

My allergies are driving me crazy too and I am like you and take a pill a day. I hate allergies! You got a great book haul! I love Longmire! I have only listened to two books though, so very different from the show…lol. I need to get some more though I kind of wish the actor from the show could narrate the books…lol. 🙂
Have a great week!

I’ve been feeling like I have a cold a couple times a week which is getting old. I’m loving the Longmire books. I’ve listened to all of the ones I’ve read as audiobooks. I haven’t watched the show for quite awhile, Stormi. I really like the narrator a lot and now he sounds like the actor from the TV series to me. Thus, I picture the actor when George Guidall is narrating…lol.

So sorry to hear about your allergies! That can be so frustrating. I imagine that while you’ve enjoyed the company of the dogs it will be nice for them to go home! All that foot wiping and drying sounds like quite the chore. We get Hello Fresh and I really like it. My husband is on the picky side so we don’t get a box every week but it takes a lot of work out of the menu planning and grocery shopping when we do. Have a great week!
