Half over, half left

Life is busy lately–nothing bad, but I haven’t gotten posts done. I’m hoping to fix that and start posting more, but our summer is a busy and wonderful time.

My daughter adopted a new dog and named her Juneau. She was abandoned by someone and is a real sweetheart. Hard to imagine someone abandoning her. Bailey and Juneau seem to get along well which is really important. My daughter also got a new bike and has enjoyed biking. We have great bike trails.

We’ve had a number of visitors which I love and lots of activities–barbecues, baseball games, a birthday, visiting gardens and garden centers. It’s all fun, but also tiring. When I’ve had time to myself I’ve tended to read which is what this blog is all about–except I haven’t come here to talk about that. And sometimes there wasn’t even time for reading. 😦 However, when I did read I read some really good books.

Books I read in June:

A Second Chance by Jodi Taylor–science fiction, time travel

Queen of Hearts by Rhys Bowen–historical mystery, audiobook

But for the the Grace by Peter Grainger–mystery, police procedural

Delivering the Truth by Edith Maxwell–historical mystery

And what I’ve read or am reading in July:

As the Crow Flies by Damien Boyd–mystery, police procedural

A Question of Inheritance by Elizabeth Edmondson–historical mystery

White Hot by Ilona Andrews–urban fantasy romance

I’ve missed my blogging friends, but am loving summer. Hard to believe June is over already and half the year is gone, too. I’m still struggling to get reviews written so I plan to work on that and write at least a few lines about the books I read. We’ll see how it all goes during the next half-year . . . .

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!
