This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.
Last week–home and blog
Back home
We’ve been home for a week and I’m still tired. We got a few things done. Our house in Maryland finally sold. It was supposed to happen in August, but at least it’s done now.
We spent a lot of time figuring out when our car will be ready to drive home. We still don’t have a date when the car repair shop says the car will be ready. That is irritating since we need to make a plane reservation and it gets more expensive the closer to the date we need to fly.
And on the road again . . .
We decided at the last minute to go see my father-in-law on Saturday. My husband is staying part of next week to take him to doctors’ appointments. Our daughter is also driving over and coming home on Sunday so I’m going to come home with her. A short visit–but only three hours away.
October weather
We are finally getting some fall weather. I love the cool crisp mornings and the bright blue skies in the afternoon. My cats are loving the sunshine coming in windows now that the sun is lower in the horizon.
Meeting people
We’ve not had a chance to meet too many people since we’ve moved here, but in October I plan to start joining some groups. We’ll see how that goes!
The blog
My blog was unavailable for a couple days this week. I finally found out one of my plug-ins was causing problems. I wasn’t able to access my site and no one else could either. That was annoying!
Because I couldn’t access the site I also didn’t get things done on my blog. I’m hoping to get more done this week.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?
I am loving the fall weather! Glad your house sold, and hopefully the car gets sorted soon. It’s hard not knowing (and time is money). I see you got send in the Clowns- I’m glad that one is out soon. I’m ready to revisit Ellison and the gang. 🙂

The fall weather is great, Greg. And the leaves are starting to change color, too. I’m looking forward to reading about Ellison again, too.

I’m reading Casting Bones right now. So far it’s not grabbing me, but hope that changes.

I hope you manage to get the car organised. There’s always a million and one things to do when you just move, so I’m glad you’ve got your blog sorted and you’re able to dive into books once more. I see you are reading The Crossing Places by Ely Griffiths – I’ll be interested to see what you make of it… In the meantime, enjoy the autumn weather and have a great week.

You have so much going on, Jan! Yay about the house, finally– been there, done that! I hope you get your car issue straightened out soon. Just goes to show that life is always unpredictable.
I tried several times to access your post last week and couldn’t get through and thought it was on my end. That’s good that you got that problem fixed so we can comment now 🙂
I like your selections above. Added some to my GR list. I looked through the Prime titles but couldn’t find anything that jumped out at me, so nothing yet. I did download Shadowed, second in a new series by Karen E. Olson that was only 2.99 the other day… and In the Land of Milk and Honey by Jane Jensen as my October “impulse treats”. I usually buy a couple of e-books a month that I really want and don’t see at the library, etc.
Have a good, and more relaxing, week ahead.

I’m so glad to get my blog back. It was so frustrating and I waited much too long to contact my blog host. Thought it was something I was doing…lol. I really enjoyed In the Land of Milk and Honey. I hope you do, too, Rita.
