Sunday Post: July 31

This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!

I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Last week–home and blog

It cooled off a little this last week–not as hot or humid. Yay!

Eastern Iowa

We spent the last week in eastern Iowa with my husband’s father. He had doctors’ appointments my husband took him to and we had a good time visiting with him as well as other family members.

The town has a summer theater which we try to go to when we get a chance. They did a production of Grease and that was fun to see. My husband and I got a few chances to go for coffee and take a few pictures, too.

And now we’re back home.

The only thing I got to watch was the Democratic Convention. However, we have our TV programs recorded so we can watch them now we’re back home.

The blog

I’m finally getting back on track with my blog and reading. That makes me happy.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. Sounds like a lovely visit to your father-in-law. I haven’t seen Grease in ages and it sounds like a lot of fun! The coffee shop looks really cute as well. Hope the weather stays a little less humid and enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

  2. I loved Grease on tv, saw it twice, and it must’ve been a fun show to see in person. The costumes and dances, etc. yay.

I have Dark Matter already on my wishlist, but added the Jane Jensen books. I like Amish stories (my family used to go to Lancaster, PA quite often when I was younger) but I don’t like the really sweet ones. I like ones more like Linda Castillo’s series, so I can’t wait to get this– might download it this weekend– unless I hold my clicker finger from even more impulsive sales 🙂 Enjoy!

    1. Grease was fun to see. I really liked the Jane Jensen book I read. I don’t like the super sweet ones either. Was happy to find a new series. Hope you’ll like it when you get a chance to try it.

  3. It’s nice to go away and get a break from routine every so often, isn’t it? Hopefully, your father-in-law’s tests are all okay. I loved Every Heart A Doorway – how are you getting on with it? I really like the look of your recent book haul – Dark Matter and Dark Run particularly caught my eye… Have a great week.
