This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.
Last Week–home and blog
Family visits
My brother and sister-in-law left this week to make their way slowly back to Oregon. They headed for the Badlands in South Dakota when they left here.
My older daughter came for the weekend. We’ve had a great visit. We got some things for the yard. It was very hot this weekend–in the mid-nineties. We got a wading pool for my daughter’s dog and Bailey had lots of fun jumping in and out of the pool!
We went to see a movie–You Before Me. A good movie, but I cried! I liked the actors.
Allergies
My allergies have been in full mode. Lots of sneezing, itching eyes and runny nose.
The blog
Another busy week and I didn’t do a lot of reading or blogging.
It’s Sunday afternoon and I was busy all morning. Just realized I forgot to post this earlier!

Free Sync Audio books
Sync is back again for the summer (May 5 – Aug 17). Sync is a program which provides two free young adult audiobook downloads each week. Each set of books are only available for one week.
The Sync books available next week (June 16 — 23):
- How It Went Down by Kekla Magoon; Read by Charise Booth, Shari Poole, Kevin R. Free, et al
- The Auto-biography of an Ex-Colored Man by James Weldon Johnson; Read by Alan Bomar Jones
To listen to these books you must download Overdrive Media Console. It is available free to download at the Sync site.
Note: Some of the books have international restrictions, but some are available even if you live outside the U.S.
Next Week–home & blog
I’m headed to northern Wisconsin next weekend and have several appointments during the week so I expect to have another busy week.
My husband is arriving in less than two weeks! Yay! I’ve decided to fly back to Maryland and help drive out with my husband, my daughter and a sister-in-law. We will have another moving van and our second car so I thought having four people to help with driving would be good.
I have quite a bit to do before I leave for Maryland–some cleaning and a few more boxes to unpack. I suspect the next month will be very busy around here.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?
You are certainly keeping busy, Jan! I’m glad your husband can join you soon; I’m sure you’ve been missing him.
I look forward to your thought on The Invisible Library! Mine post on Monday. I had mixed feelings but overall I liked it. As for Me Before You, I don’t think I’ll see that one in the theater; I’m waiting for DVD. I’d rather do my crying in the comfort of my own couch!

You’ve been busy and traveling a bit lately, so thanks for sharing your bookish thoughts. I read the first two Louise Penny’s and enjoyed them so I hope you like the one you are reading currently.
I’ve been crazy busy too, and have had some unsettling mishaps recently, but at least we are moved into our wonderful little house and mostly unpacked. Inside the house is mostly finished, but our garage has a bunch of boxes to open, and some memento boxes, especially the kids’ stuff, to stack up neatly. We are missing some items that didn’t get packed properly somehow, but they are all things that can be replaced if they don’t surface soon.
I have been having a huge reading slump this week and stalled on about 6 books before staying with Still Midnight by Denise Mina, a new to me author. I hope I enjoy it, but at least I’m not putting it aside.
Have a fun week and I’m glad to hear your hubby will be moving home soon, yay!

Allergies – yuck. I had a bad year with them this year.
Good luck with all the moving stuff. I can never figure out if I hate packing or unpacking more. It is always whichever I am doing at the moment.
