This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.
Last Week–home and blog
I was stiff, sore and tired after my adventures chasing my son’s dog last week. And Adonis was pooped, too! But we’ve both recovered and I’m much more careful now.
Since our yard isn’t fenced which started the misadventures (see last week’s post for about the chase) I’ve stayed with my daughter (she has a fenced yard) during this last week of watching my son’s mini dachshund. My son’s dachshund and my daughter’s lab have had so much fun chasing each other in the yard.
The weather has been beautiful this week so it was nice to sit outside and have a barbecue one night. I love this time of year with so many shades of green as the trees have just leafed out and before the mosquitoes come out and before it gets too humid!
We went to a new jazz club Saturday night and heard Brazilian jazz. The band was great. And very funny as they talked about their time in this country.
The blog
I made progress in Roses and Rot. I’m almost half way through and enjoying it quite a bit, but I haven’t had too much time to read this week.
I did get some posts completed so was happy about that.

Free Sync Audio books
Sync is back again for the summer (May 5 – Aug 17). Sync is a program which provides two free young adult audiobook downloads each week. Each set of books are only available for one week.
The Sync books available next week (May 26 – June 2):
- Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone; Read by Amy Rubinate
- Egg and Spoon by Gregory Maguire; Read by Michael Page
To listen to these books you must download Overdrive Media Console. It is available free to download at the Sync site.
Note: Some of the books have international restrictions, but some are available even if you live outside the U.S.
Next Week–home & blog
My son arrives late Tuesday night to pick up his dog and leaves early Wednesday morning. He’s moving to a new apartment June 1 and hasn’t found one yet so he doesn’t have time to stay and visit now! We’re hoping he will come back for July 4.
Then one of my sisters-in-law is arriving late Thursday night for a visit. We are all headed for eastern Iowa to visit my father-in-law for Memorial Day. My husband is flying in to Chicago and will meet us at his dad’s. It will be so wonderful to see my husband. It’s been almost two months since we’ve seen each other.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?
Sounds like quite the week for you. The dogs look like they are having such fun. I bet they recovered faster than you did. LOL Glad the weather was nice for you. Had a couple rainy days but they were needed. Now I don’t have to water the flowers. LOL
Have a lovely week.

I hope to get to the Voodoo Killings before long. It sounds good. I just haven’t had much opportunity to listen to audiobooks so far this year.
