This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.
Last Week–home and blog
Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!
My daughter from Illinois came to visit for Mother’s Day. We went to a play and out to dinner on Saturday. So much fun. My kids gave me a fire pit for Mother’s Day! We sat outside Saturday night and enjoyed it. My husband gave me a swing for outside and my daughters are putting it together for me!
Out of my funk
I’m pretty much out of my funk! But now I’m kind of exhausted. Taking care of my son’s dog is tiring. He’s missing my son so he needs a lot of attention. He’s a sweet little dog and almost always happy! His tail wags a mile a minute! I can’t be in a funk when he’s around. But I do need a nap…lol.
The blog
I did get posts completed this week and finally visited a few blogs to see what was happening in the book blogging world! However, I still didn’t get much reading done.

Sync is back again for the summer (May 5 – Aug 17). Sync is a program which provides two free young adult audiobook downloads each week. Each set of books are only available for one week.
The Sync books available next week (May 12 – 19):
- The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbur; Read by Amy Shields
- Division Collision: An African Boy, An American Lawyer, and Their Remarkable Battle for Freedom by Jim Gash; Read by Brandon Batchelar
To listen to these books you must download Overdrive Media Console. It is available free to download at the Sync site.
Note: Some of the books have international restrictions, but some are available even if you live outside the U.S.
Next Week–home & blog
I hope to find time to read in between watching Adonis. I’m loving siting outside with the dogs while they run around especially in the mornings when I can hear the birds singing and the air is cool. Such a peaceful time!

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?
Happy Mother’s Day! Your granddog is adorable, lol! I like the idea of you getting an outdoor swing and firepit to take advantage of sitting out in the yard and reading or hanging out with family. Sounds like Saturday was a wonderful day- enjoy your week!

Happy Mothers Day! The fire pit looks great (so relaxing to sit around a fire) and the dog looks like a cutie! I’ll bet he’s a ball of energy.
I’m thinking of trying Admiral after seeing yours and Kimba’s reviews- sounds fun. 🙂

It sounds like you’ve been really busy and I’m glad you’re out of your funk.
Taking care of your son’s dog sounds exhausting but he is kinda cute!

Oh my gosh, your son’s dog is adorable! And I hope you enjoy Roses and Rot, I’ve got that one on my list for May too.

I agree, Danya. Family is great. I’m struggling with Roses and Rot. I hope I can get into it.
