Sunday Post: April 17

This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!

I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Last Week–home and blog

Unpacking continues!

I still have lots of boxes to unpack as well as stuff to move around to try to find the ideal spot. When my husband gets back here at the end of June he will see a different house!

Internet at last!

I finally have internet at the new house, but I still didn’t end up spending a lot of time with my computer. I’m trying to get more unpacking done so staying away from the computer and TV.

Internet means I also have television. Right now I’m just using Roku for TV so I have Netflix, Amazon and free channels. After my husband arrives we’ll reassess.

The blog

Not as much done on the blog as I planned. Better luck next week, I hope.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

    1. Yes, internet makes me happy! I’m hoping to get boxes unpacked and the contents put away. Last week I unpacked boxes, but didn’t find a place for some of the stuff…lol.

      1. The best part of moving! Or rearranging. I rearranged my bookshelves the other day and suddenly, things didn’t fit anymore xD

  1. Huzzah for progress on getting unpacked — and for Internet! Seriously, what did we all do without it?!

Best of luck with the continued unpacking and settling in. How is your kitty adjusting to the new house? Is s/he having fun with empty boxes?

I need to read Ink and Bone, since I’ve just requested the ARC for Paper and Fire. Incentive to move it higher on my TBR list, right?

I look forward to your review of ‘Til Death Do Us Part. I reviewed it earlier, but I’m putting up an excerpt on release day. 🙂

    1. I’m having issues with my internet and my blog this week, Lark, so though I love my technology, at the moment I’m very frustrated…lol.

Yes, the cats are settling in and exploring though my shy cat hid for several days! They have also gotten to meet my daughter’s Labrador Retriever which has been fun to see!

I got my review of ‘Til Death Do Us Part up today and I’m going to put up the excerpt I received tomorrow. I’ll have to go and read your review, Lark.

  2. Hope the settling in is going smoothly. I saw some pics of your hometown you posted on another blog and it’s really pretty. I find it so fun to go exploring when we move somewhere new. Good luck with all of it!
I look forward to checking in with you during the week. Glad you got internet, the lifeblood of this world now 🙂

    1. I’m making a little progress, Rita! I love exploring a new area, too. And there’s lots happening here.

Yes, amazing how we all have to have internet now.

  3. Wahoo for internet. Have fun organizing your new den 🙂 I personally would just use Amazon Prime ans Netflix and ditch hubby is a Hope the week ahead is a good one. Ink and Bone is awesome.

    1. I’m lobbying for just having Amazon and Netflix, but, yeah, my husband doesn’t think that will be enough! I’m looking forward to Ink and Bone.

  4. Yay for Internet! And nice post on Des Moines this week- I have relatives who live there and they enjoy it. Was there a few years ago… seems like a nice town.

    1. Thanks, Greg! Yes, Des Moines is great. Lots to do and the traffic isn’t bad (which after Washington DC is so nice).

  5. So glad you got your internet! Now you can grab more books. LOL Have fun making your new nest your home. I found it fun to take my time and find just the right place for everything.

    1. Thanks, Laura. I have to stop my clicking that “buy” button. It is nice to move things around until I find the place I really like for furniture and other items. It does take time.
