Sunday Post: April 3

This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!

I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Last Week–home and blog

Iowa–here we are!

I’m starting this before we leave for Iowa because I don’t know how and when I will get a chance to write this after we leave or when we arrive in Iowa. We are hoping to arrive Friday afternoon, but I probably won’t have any time or internet available until at least Sunday and maybe Monday. So I will write this and schedule it, but may not get it linked to Kimba’s blog right away.

Packing all our stuff into the moving van

The moving van is getting packed. Beautiful, spring weather for the move. Not quite sure right now if there will be enough room!!?

The cats aren’t too happy at the moment since they are closed up in rooms without much stuff in them! Once the trip starts they will be even more unhappy, but they usually settle down.

Even though we are all exhausted and a little stressed it is great to spend time with our oldest daughter. We don’t get to see her often enough. We’ll see her more once we get moved, but we will still be 5 hours apart and she’s looking for a new job so hard to tell where she’ll end up.

The blog

I’ve got some posts scheduled and will try to get more written and scheduled. With all the time in vehicles for the rest of the week I’m hoping to do some reading.

Blog posts

My books

What I’m reading
  • Dying for a Taste by Leslie Karst
What I read last week
  • The Gray Ghost Murders by Keith McCafferty
New–Books, E-books, NetGalley, Audiobooks–purchased or free or from library

Next Week–home & blog

I will be unpacking boxes and putting things away for awhile! Our out-of-town helpers are all flying home on Sunday. My husband leaves for Maryland on Monday. He has to work for a few more months before his retirement. I’m so happy he decided to take early retirement! So glad my younger daughter is here so I will get to see her and not get too lonesome for my husband I hope.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. I’m so excited for you! A new chapter in your life. And so glad the weather is wonderful for your move. I was kind of worried as it seems winter is still hitting some people one more time. Hope your trip goes smooth and looking forward to spring pictures of your new home:)

    1. Yes, it’s so exciting to be here, Laura. I love our new house and I’m working hard to unpack boxes! We were really lucky our trip to Iowa went smoothly and we all had so much fun together. My husband’s sisters are so great to help plus so fun to be with.

  2. I wasn’t stopping by this week because I thought you would be busy moving. Didn’t know you scheduled some posts ahead of time. Good luck with the move– perhaps you are already there by now. I’m reading the rest of your week’s posts now. Good luck!

    1. I managed to get some posts scheduled before we left which made me very happy! I still don’t have internet at the new house, but hoping to get it set up by next week. For now I come by my daughter’s house every now and then!
