Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
Series: Unknown
Publication Date: April 5, 2016
Genre: Fantasy
Synopsis (from Goodreads): Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children
No Solicitations
No Visitors
No Quests
Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere… else.
But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children.
Nancy tumbled once, but now she’s back. The things she’s experienced… they change a person. The children under Miss West’s care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.
But Nancy’s arrival marks a change at the Home. There’s a darkness just around each corner, and when tragedy strikes, it’s up to Nancy and her new-found schoolmates to get to the heart of the matter.
No matter the cost.

Why I want this book
- I like Seanan McGuire’s books–especially the October Daye series.
- This sounds really good. Maybe a new series?
- It sounds like many childhood stories make up the background of this book.
I really need to start the October Daye books eventually. I love this cover an it has been on my wishlist for some time now. Thanks for sharing!

Tor.com sure is coming out with a lot of good stuff. Out of their new line of novellas, this wasn’t originally on my list to read, though the more I hear about it the more interested I am. I may give this a shot once we get closer to release!

I’ll have to check out what else Tor.com has coming out, Mogsy. I didn’t realize this was part of a new line of novellas. I like so much that Tor does so I need to check these out.

Every Heart a Doorway sounds really good, Jan, I think I would enjoy this story. I’m wondering about the blurring between the fantasy world and the real world, and I want to know more 🙂
Have a terrific Thursday and happy reading.

I’m waiting for this one too. I can hardly wait! It sounds like it might have similarities to her Toby Daye series but even if not, it should be good.
