The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
Last Week
Home & blog
It was hot and humid most of the week (mid 90’s several days), but we finally got some rain at the end of the week and then some cooler, less humid days. Yay!
I’m happy the Fall season is starting for TV. One of the shows that started last week is The Great British Baking Show on our PBS station. We saw part of last season’s show last year and we are happy to find it on again this year. This show is a lot of fun. I liked the judges, the hosts and contestants from last year and the judges and hosts are back this year. I don’t watch many cooking shows, but I like this one a lot.
We went to the Chesapeake Bay on Monday and had lots of fun. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. On the way to take our friend to the airport on Tuesday we stopped in Annapolis for lunch. Another beautiful day.

My son’s birthday is this week and we’re going to NYC to see him next weekend. It will be so good to visit him. We haven’t seen him since June.
I will be working on my blog during the week trying to get a bit ahead. Also I’m hoping to get a bunch of reading done!

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning?
Lovely photos and it does look as if it was a beautiful day.
I’m not really a fan of reality TV but watched the last season of Masterchef here in Australia and the home cooks were AMAZING!!!

Thanks, Deborah! I don’t watch too many reality TV shows either, but this cooking show is really fun. I’ve watched Masterchef here a time or two and am amazed at the home cooks, too.

i am reading The Aeronaut’s Windlass as well. The Chesapeake Bay Area is lovely, glad you had fun. I saw commercials for some of my favorite Fall shows and it may me giddy. Right now we are enjoying the lull and exploring Netflix. Enjoy your new reads. Hope your son has a lovely birthday 🙂

My library has no Ilona Andrews online. I may eventually have to go to the physical building to get through the series which I just started.

That’s too bad, Steph. Our library system doesn’t have a lot of online books available, but it does have most of Ilona Andrews’ books. They’re definitely worth going to the library to pick up paper books.

I’m doing Blog Ahead and HoHoHo, plus Bloggiesta is next week. I haven’t been to the Chesapeake Bay area since childhood, but remember it as so beautiful. I think next summer I am going to get another retired friend and we can do a driving trip down the coast. Those thunderstorms Wednesday brought such relief, it’s so nice now!

I was hoping to do Bloggiesta, too, Elizabeth, but since I’m out-of-town next weekend decided against it.
I’m loving having windows open in the mornings!

Thanks for the heads up about The Great British Baking Show! I watched it last year and loved it so I’m happy to see it coming back. Your Chesapeake Bay pictures are beautiful. I’ve never been but at some point my husband and I are planning to do more traveling and it’s on the list. Happy birthday to your son and have a great week!

You’re welcome, Katherine! The Great British Baking Show is so much fun.
I hope you’ll get a chance to see the Chesapeake Bay sometime. One of the thinkgs that amazes me is how huge it is–along eastern Maryland and a good portion of Virginia as well. There are some nice towns along the bay and also on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but I’ve also found a lot of the beaches are privately owned so it’s hard to get down to the water sometimes. However, there are a few places and towns which have waterfront area and parks.

Beautiful photos! I used to live in the Tidewater area of Virginia, and it is a lovely area of the country.
I want to read a Juliet Marillier sometime, as Lark is always praising her stories, so maybe I’ll get the first in this series you are reading and see how it goes.
Have a nice, and cooler, week ahead!

Thanks, Rita! It is a beautiful part of the country.
Yes, Juliet Marillier is a really good fantasy author and the first book in the series is so good. I hope you get a chance to read it.

When we lived in the DC area years ago we lived in NoVa, too, and didn’t see much of the Chesapeake Bay. Since we are so much closer now we have tried to explore a little more.
Thanks for the birthday wishes for my son, Bea. Hard to believe he’s 28 now! Wow! Time flies and all that…lol

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. That band shell takes me back. I’ve not joined many hops. Just the Spooktacular Hop which I do every year. I am doing holiday and seasonal themed reading though.
