The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
Last Week
Home & blog
All our visitors left by Tuesday night. We had a wonderful time with everyone. Lots of stories, laughs and good food. . .and dragonflies! My brother studies dragonflies (he’s been fascinated with them since he was a kid). He’s envious we have a pond in our backyard. He found 12 different species of dragonflies in the pond and says during the season we probably have 30 or more species. He got me a dragonfly book so I can identify them!
My cats Elf and Katzi enjoyed the visitors, but Scorch spent most of her time hiding. The day after everyone left she finally came out again and relaxed on the carpet. She loves to lay with her back legs stretched out behind her!
Still hot and humid and lots of rain. I’m enjoying all the flowers, plants and birds as well as all the frogs and toads in our yard.
Somehow I ended up reading four books at the same time so I’m not finished with any of them yet. But at least I’m reading some good books. We took three more boxes of books to give to the library. I’m finally getting to the last of the boxes of books to go through. Then I want to go through my shelves to see what else I can part with. I had too many books for awhile and it feels good to let someone else enjoy these books.

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning next week?
Sounds like you had a great visit. And your pond does look like it would be prime dragonfly habitat. How fun.
Your new books look good, and nice to see Huck Finn on Sync. Hmm…
Have a great week! 🙂

Lovely photographs – I like your cats! And your pond. I’m so glad you had a wonderful visit with your family.
It does feel good to get rid of books, doesn’t it? I’ve got a boxful to go to the library – cookbooks, textbooks, and reference I no longer need or want, all from just one tall bookcase. But I’ve still got about 13 more bookcases and at least 2 boxes to go through!
I can’t wait to read your review of Nice Dragons Finish Last. I picked that one up as an ebook when it was on sale but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Maybe I should designate 2016 as the year of no NetGalley, so I have time to read all the books I’ve accumulated over the last few years. (If I thought I could go through with that, I’d do it… but I know I would cave.)

I need to go through my cookbooks again. I have a bookcase full of them, because I love cookbooks, but I really only use a few of them regularly.
Both the Dragon books by Rachel Aaron are excellent. I hope you’ll find time to read them, Lark.

One Good Dragon Deserves Another!!! I love it when authors reach out. When Ms. Aaron asked if I could be interested in an eARC of that too I just about tripped over myself to reply yes 🙂

Even though I don’t like insects I’ve been around dragonflies most of my life since my brother was fascinated when he was a child so I’ve learned quite a bit through the years!
I really want to read A Murder of Mages soon.

That is a very strange lying position Scorch is in… comfy for humans but surprising for cats.
Glad the visit went well and your photos are lovely!

Thanks, Deborah! Scorch has lain like that since she was a kitten, Deborah! I’ve never seen a cat do that before.

That dragonfly photo is of one of the largest species. There are others which are quite small.
And thank you for the compliments of my cats, Heather. I love that!
