The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!
Last Week
Home & blog
Hello June! Beautiful June weather. It was cool and rainy the first part of the week which I enjoyed. I don’t want the entire summer cool and rainy, but the week before had been around 90 degrees several days. It’s started warming back up, but the rain helped the new flowers and trees we’ve planted so that’s also very nice.
My brother is coming to visit the last week of June and first part of July. We were hoping the whole family could come, but no one else is able to make the trip. We’re trying to get the house cleaned and we’re sorting and donating things. Plus I’m continuing to sort through books. We took five boxes of books to our library. They run a bookstore for books donated so I hope I’m helping them! My husband took a couple of days off work to help sort and clean. He’s a keeper!
Lots of sports going on right now–women’s world cup soccer, ice hockey playoffs and the first triple crown winner (American Pharoah winning the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes) in horse racing in 37 years. Plus all the regular sporting events.

I’m trying to get caught up on my reviews. We’ll see how that goes. With the weather turning hotter again we will have to water all our new plantings. I also have lots of cards to send for birthdays and anniversaries this month and I need to get more made!

What did you do last week? What books did you collect? What are you planning next week?
I’m glad it’s June. I love early summer and it will fly by anyway, so I’m going to try and savor the warm weather early. 🙂 5 boxes- wow! Isn’t it funny how many books you accumulate? I looked through my shelves recently and was amazed at all the titles I had forgotten about.
Enjoy the sports. Yay for soccer, and how about that triple crown winner??

I have accumulated way too many books, Greg. I’m sorting through and will have more to give away. And I’ve also found some treasures I want to read. It was a great sports weekend.

The purging is continuing and helping clear some of our clutter, Kimba. I think our kids are going to be able to visit while my brother’s here. I think we’ll have lots of fun.

5 boxes of books? Wow. That’s a purge. Sounds like the family visit, well, your brother’s visit, was the motivation you needed for getting cleaning done.:) Enjoy the weather and good luck with the cleaning.

I’m excited about the Triple Crown! I can’t believe it’s been 37 years. I know it’s been close several times in the last 10 years of so but always fell through. We’ve had some cooler weather as well which I’m enjoying but I want to go swimming! Congratulations on cleaning out your books! Have a great week!

I used to keep a scrapbook of newspaper clippings about the triple crown for every year when I was a kid. I loved watching the races every year.

Here in Australia it’s now winter and in my part (a warmer part) it’s become cool enough to wear sweatshirts and need a blanket at night, which is nice.
How lovely to have family come and visit… (even if it’s just your brother! 😉 ) I”m sure you’ll enjoy it.

I’m enjoying summer even if it’s turned really hot and humid this week. I do like the change of seasons. We’re lucky to have four distinct seasons where we live. I think it makes me enjoy each season more. I hope you enjoy your cooler weather in Australia.
