The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!

We had dinner with our son, his girlfriend and their puppy on Monday evening. (The same puppy I took care of at the beginning of May.) It was so good to see them. They are moving to New York City this weekend. They’ve been in Washington DC the last couple of years so we’re really going to miss them.
We returned from our road trip Saturday afternoon. We had such a good time. My husband had a couple of meetings so we drove to western Maryland and then to Philadelphia. We spent several days in Philadelphia right downtown. We’ve been there before and enjoy all the history. We didn’t have a lot of time in the City so we mostly walked around. But one of the best parts was listening to a bluegrass band one evening. The band had a bass, a mandolin, banjo and guitar. So much fun to listen to.
It’s hard to believe May is almost here!

Great book deal for John Scalzi
Tor Books announced a book deal with John Scalzi–13 books (10 adult books and 3 young adult books) over 10 years. Plans include a far-future space opera series, return to the Old Man’s War universe and sequels to Lock-In.
I’m so excited about this book deal for John Scalzi. He’s one of my favorite authors. In the past two years since I discovered him I’ve read or listened to a number of his books and loved all of them. I’m excited for myself as a reader and for Mr. Scalzi as an author.

Another week of catching up after our trip! I think it will be a little cooler, less humid with some rain next week. Since we’ve got a few more plants to get planted that’s a good thing!
