Sequels I want to read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme which I participate in when I can. It’s a great meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish blog. Every week a new topic is presented. It’s not only fun to think about my own list, but to read what other people come up with!

Today we talk about the sequels we want to read.

1. The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi (Old Man’s War series #2)

2. Split Second by Kasie West (Pivot Point series #2)

3. One Good Dragon Deserves Another by Rachel Aaron (Heartstrikers series #2)

4. Underground by Kat Richardson (Greywalker #3)

5. Midnight Blue-Light Special by Seanan McGuire (InCryptid series #2)

6. The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas (The Elemental Trilogy #2)

7. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor (Daughter of Smoke and Bone series #2)

8.  The Seat of Magic by J. Kathleen Cheney (The Golden City series #2)

9. Caliban’s War by James S. A. Corey (Expanse series #2)

10. The Exiled Queen by Cinda Chima Williams (The Seven Realms series #2)

I did this same post last year and I checked to see how many of the books I’d read. Turns out I read 50% of that list!

Through the Evil Days by Julia Spencer-Fleming

Deadshifted by Cassie Alexander

Broken Homes by Ben Aaronovitch

Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

Night Broken by Patricia Briggs

Not read (though I’d still like to read them):

Cress by Marissa Meyer–I own the book

Lines of Departure by Marko Kloos–I own the book

Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews–I own the book

Long Live the Queen by Kate Locke–just bought this!

Not yet published:

Pegasus II by Robin McKinley

What sequels do you want to read?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. 50% is great! And you’ve got more so definitely fantastic! I’m weird when it comes to series and always like to own as many in a series as possible before reading it but your list gives me all kinds of ideas. I especially want to read the Laini Taylor series!

    1. Thanks, Katherine! I just hope I get all these read by the next time I do this post! I really liked the first book by Laini Taylor, but for some reason just haven’t read the next book.

  2. I’m looking forward to reading The Perilous Sea and Days of Blood and Starlight as well. Really looking forward to Pegasus II when it comes out, Robin McKinley’s writing is excellent.

  3. I have the first InCryptid b ook, I still need to read it. 50% of last year’s list is pretty good and bodes well for this year’s list. 🙂

  4. I still haven’t read Split Second even though I loved Pivot Point. I need to get on that! I hope I read the books on my list, that’s a good idea checking back to see how you did on last year’s list. I hope you get to read these!

  5. There’s quite a few on there I need to read too, but more that I’ve caught up with. The Expanse and the Old Man’s War series are really great!

  6. I have heard a lot about and am intrigued by the James S.A. Corey series and Scalzi’s Old Man’s war. I’m already in the middle of a lot of series though – I have a problem!

    1. I know what you mean about reading a lot of series. It’s hard to keep track…lol. The Corey and Scalzi books are good though!

  7. Good idea to check against the list you made last year! Pretty sure I would’ve read a lot less than 50%, haha. I’m hoping to read The Exiled Queen and Midnight Blue Light Special this year…read the first books for both series and loved ’em!
