Books I want to reread . . .

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme which I participate in occasionally. It’s a great meme and is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish blog. Every week a new topic is presented. It’s not only fun to think about my own list, but to read what other people come up with!

This week we talk about the books we want to reread. I don’t reread books very often, but every so often I have books I really love and want to reread. When I reread a book it’s usually a book I read quite awhile ago.

Here are the books I thought of in no particular order:

1. Valor’s Choice, book 1, Confederation series by Tanya Huff–This is a military science fiction series I read several years ago. I bought the first two audiobooks a few weeks ago when Audible had a sale. I’m listening to the first book now–Valor’s Choice–and loving it all over again. The last book was written about four years ago, but I’ve heard that Ms. Huff will have another book in the series sometime in 2015…another great reason to read these books again.

2. The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie King–I love this book! This is the first book in the Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes series and it’s one of my favorite books in the series (so far).

3. Have Space Suit–Will Travel by Robert Heinlein–I read most everything Robert Heinlein wrote when I was a young adult. I especially enjoyed his juveniles. They’re fun adventure stories I read as a teenager so I want to see how much I still like them now. And I own this book so that makes it easy.

4. A few Liaden Universe books (maybe starting with Scouts Progress) by Sharon Lee & Steve Miller–The Liaden Universe books are some of my favorite books.

5. Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey–I read this series so long ago that I jumped at the chance to buy it on Audible when it was on sale.

6. Hunting Party by Elizabeth Moon–Elizabeth Moon is one of my favorite authors. I love her military science fiction.

7. Shakespeare’s Christmas by Charlaine Harris–I read the books in this mystery series years ago and I want to reread this book for Christmas. Maybe for the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-Thon at the end of this week.

8. Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie–I love Jennifer Crusie’s writing and she doesn’t seem to write novels anymore so I’d like to go back and reread some of her books.

9. Archangel by Sharon Shinn–I love this series by Sharon Shinn and would love to reread this one.

10. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs–I love this series, too  and I read the first book quite awhile ago.

What books do you want to reread? Do you regularly reread or not?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. I’ve never read the Pern books although I’ve always like the concept- actually I may have started the first one as a kid, don’t think I finished. They seem to be well loved though- maybe Audible is the way to go…

    1. I’ll let you know when I listen if I think it’s a good listen! I’m not sure how well I’ll like them now that I’m older, but I hope I still enjoy them.

  2. I wish I was more motivated to reread books, but then again maybe it’s a good thing I’m not, because I have more than enough books I HAVEN’T read to eat up my time 🙂 I would like to reread A Song of Ice and Fire one day though, but man the books are soooo long.

  3. I have read Moon Called more times than I count, love that book. And the series.

Dragonflight I couldn’t finish the first time I read it. I tried again some years later and now I’ve read it several times. That was such a good series.

I’m pretty sure I read Have Space Suit – Will Travel. I read all of the base library’s Heinlein selection when I was growing up. I think my favorite by him was a later book, Job: A Comedy of Justice.

Good list, nice mix of books.

    1. Thanks, Bea! I haven’t reread any of the Mercy Thompson books, but I’d like to. So many good books to read. I just don’t have enough time to read everything…LOL.

  4. I’m wanting to reread Beekeeper’s Apprentice as well. It’s been years since I read it but it was so good! I have the latest in the series but it’s always fun to go back and visit the beginning. I have several Jennifer Crusie books on my shelf but have never picked any of them up. It sounds like it’s time I gave them a try. Great list!

    1. Yes, I want to reread some of the Laurie King books. I’ll see how well I do with that. Crusie’s books are great. Lots of humor in them.
