The book I’m excited about this week: Foxglove Summer by Ben Aaronovitch, book 5 in the Peter Grant urban fantasy series. The book comes out November 13 in the UK, but isn’t out until January 6, 2015 in the U.S. published by DAW.
Synopsis from Goodreads: In the fifth of his bestselling series Ben Aaronovitch takes Peter Grant out of whatever comfort zone he might have found and takes him out of London – to a small village in Herefordshire where the local police are reluctant to admit that there might be a supernatural element to the disappearance of some local children. But while you can take the London copper out of London you can’t take the London out of the copper.
Travelling west with Beverley Brook Peter soon finds himself caught up in a deep mystery and having to tackle local cops and local gods. And what’s more all the shops are closed by 4pm…

I’ve read all the books in this series and after the last book I really want to know what happens next!
YES. This was actually one of my past WoWs, and I was originally so excited thinking it would be out late this fall. It seems it’s been pushed back to the new year though, or like you said, the original release date I’d seen was probably for the UK Gollancz edition. I was hoping the US wouldn’t have to wait this time, but ah well at least it wasn’t for six months like the last book! 😀

I thought it might be coming out this fall, too, Mogsy. At least we don’t have to wait too much longer here in the U.S. I remember book 2 took over a year to get here!

Five books already? And I have read… One. One book in the series. Enjoyed it though.

I just read the first book of this series a couple months ago and LOVED it! Nice to know there are 4 MORE waiting for me – Yay! Although I didn’t love Beverly Brook and was kind of glad when she was consigned to the exchange between Mother and Father Thames…

I like the whole idea of the river, streams and brooks of the Thames. Mother and Father Thames and all the rest. That is really original for me.
