My fall reading list . . .

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted at the Broke and the Bookish blog. Each week a different topic is introduced and it is fun to see what everyone writes each week.

This week I get to talk about the books I’m most excited about for fall 2014. For me I focus on the new books coming out this fall and books from my TBR pile.

New fall books:

1.The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas–I read the first book in this young adult fantasy series and liked it a lot.

2. Only Enchanting by Mary Balogh–Mary Balogh is one of my favorite historical romance authors. She had a new book out in July which I read and loved so I’m excited she has another new book published in this series in October!

3. The Pyramids of London by Andrea K. Höst–I already talked about my excitement for this steampunk fantasy in a Waiting on Wednesday post a couple weeks ago.

4. The Future Falls by Tanya Huff–The third book in the Gale Women series. I’ve enjoyed the first two books so this is a no brainer!

5. Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews–A new series from Ilona Andrews!

6. Maybe this Christmas by Sarah Morgan–The third book in the O’Neil Brother series and this is a Christmas book, too.

7, Tainted Blood by M. L. Brennan–I’ve read the first two books in this series and they’re one of my favorite new series of the year.

Books from my TBR Pile:

8. Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness–I read the first book in this series and loved it. I really need to read this book especially since the third book is already available.

9. The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch–So many people have recommended this book to me. I need to read it!

10. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marilier–I’ve heard so many great things about this book and I’ve wanted to read it for quite awhile.

What books do you want to read this fall?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. For some reason I haven’t read the Balogh from July though she’s always one of my favorite authors. I”m looking forward to reading that one and I’ll have to add this newest one as well. I’m definitely looking forward to the Sarah Morgan as I’ve really enjoyed the other 2 in the series. Great list!

  2. Wow, so many great picks! I’m also highly anticipating Burn for Me (who isn’t???) and you’ve definitely made me want to read The Pyramids of London. As for your TBR picks, Lies of Locke Lamora and Daughter of the Forest are both on my list too! I’ve heard such good things about both, especially Juliet Marilier’s writing.

    1. So many good books to read, Danya. I just hope I get them read during these months. And I’ve been hearing about Juliet Marillier for so long. Now I have to start reading her.

  3. A new series by Ilona Andrews!! That’s exciting news! Can Kate Daniels be bested, though? Pyramids of London also looks pretty great. I hope you enjoy The LIes of Lock Lamora and The Daughter of the Forest both of which I enjoyed very much!

    1. The new Ilona Andrews is exciting. It sounds totally different from Kate Daniels which I think is a good thing…because Kate Daniels can’t be beat. I’m so glad to hear you liked Locke Lamora and Daughter of the Forest, Stephanie.

  4. I was grateful to receive an ARC of Tainted Blood from the author, it’s on the top of my reading list for next month! Great pick with Lies of Locke Lamora as well. I should get to doing my own fall reading list soon…

  5. Only Enchanting is on a few lists for the fall. 🙂 I have Maybe This Christmas, it’ll be my first book by that author.

I hope you get to read them all!

  6. Only Enchanting is on my radar, too! And I need to read the first Sherry Thomas, Daughter of the Forest, and The Lies of Locke Lamora sometime in the next year!
