Sunday Post: July 13

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it!

Last Week

Home & blog

We arrived home from Iowa late Monday night. I’ve had lots to do this week since we’re going out-of-town again next week. Summer is in full swing. The frogs sing to us every night and we had a couple afternoons and evenings of thunderstorms. The rain is very welcome since the lawn and other plants were drying out. Something–maybe a rabbit? since I saw one in the flowerbed the day before– chewed off all the blooms on my coneflowers. 😦

As I explained last week I have a badly cracked cell phone screen. My daughter thought it could be repaired, but it doesn’t sound as easy or cheap as she thought. For now I have a screen protector on the phone to protect my fingers and everything works. I also have my old cell phone which I can put the sim card into if necessary.saturday-shorts

I continued to post a number of reviews this week to try to clear my backlog of reviews. I have most of them posted and actually posted a COYER review! Soon all my reviews will be COYER reviews (at least until Summer Vacation COYER ends). I’m trying to participate in a COYER Read-a-Thon I started a new blog topic called Saturday Shorts. I plan to post on Saturdays when I have something “short” to talk about!

We’re off to The Emerald City (Seattle) on Monday. My husband’s sister and family live there and she always plans the best activities for us. We will be there for a week. I’m planning to schedule some posts for the week.

What books did you collect last week? What are you planning next week?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

  1. Those pesky rabbits! In my case, it’s the deer; they eat all my hosta leaves. The poor things are nothing but scraggly stems now.

Nice haul this week! Let me know how you like the McCaffrey audiobook. And have a great time in Seattle! Seems like you are always on the go! 🙂

    1. I’m surprised we don’t have deer since we have some woods close to us. We had deer in Ohio and they can cause lots of damage. Sorry about your hostas.

I haven’t read the first McCaffrey book for years so I’m interested in how I’ll like it–especially as an audiobook. We do seem on the go quite a bit these days. I think Seattle will be lots of fun. And I’ve got another trip at the end of the month!

  2. We need some rain here, I cut the lawn and noticed the ground was hard. We have a sprinkler system and I guess it is time to turn them on. Sounds like you are busy, busy, busy! Have a great week 🙂

    1. Yes, we needed rain here, too. The grass has been pretty dry. I hope we get some more this week while we’re gone. We don’t have a sprinkler system so it’s either us moving hoses or rain!

  3. Oh rabbits can do some crazy damage! Luckily they haven’t hit my garden but I live in fear! That’s to bad about your phone being a more complicated fix. I know people who do change them out and I know there are places you can take them but I’ve chickened out the one time that was an issue. Have fun in Seattle! I’ve never been but I have friends who live there and it looks fantastic!

    1. Yeah, my phone is working, but the screen is pretty cracked. Seattle is a wonderful place. Should be a really nice time.
