Sunday Post–December 8

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. This is a great meme to participate in every week and I thank Kim for hosting it!

Last Week

Around the Housechristmas-card_edited

I didn’t do a lot of reading, but my husband and I did a little house reorganizing as well as Christmas decorating. The tree is up..but no lights or decorations yet, but we have Christmas lights outside! I reorganized my craft room and made a few Christmas cards!

We might get a little snow on Sunday before it changes to sleet/freezing rain and then to all rain. We have a lower chance of snow and freezing rain here in southern Maryland.

No reviews this week. I had a couple just about ready, but could never sit down to finish them so…maybe next week!

Around the internetbookish-christmas-ornament

I saw a post this weekend at that Artsy reader girl blog about making Christmas ornaments from book pages! There are some great ideas, pictures  and links to directions so go check them out!

Li from Me and My Books blog has put up a post about free/cheap e-books which has great information and links. I found some great new resources (as though I need to get more books!), but, of course, I’m going to utilize these

Next Week

Around the house

My husband is out of town on business until the weekend before Christmas so I need to finish the decorating, the Christmas cards and make sure we’re ready for Christmas. Yikes! Lots to do, but I’m going to try to relax. Here’s my mantra–Enjoy each day, have some fun, read some Christmas books, listen to Christmas music, bake some cookies…. Oh well, one day at a time, I guess!

What did you do last week? What are your plans for next week?

Author: Jan

I love to read--especially mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I also love blogging, photography, gardening, playing Mah Jonng, reading with a cat on my lap, throwing a ball for a dog, creating cards to send to family and friends, reading book blogs, using my computer.

    1. I’m looking forward to reading both Steelheart and the Kiss book…all the books, in fact!

We did get a little snow, then sleet, freezing rain and finally rain! It was quite a mess and we may get some snow tomorrow. However, it’s news here when we get an inch of snow!

  1. Wow, you got a lot of great books! I tried to swear off buying books for a bit, even on sale; things are a little tight with travel and Christmas in the same month, and it’s not like I don’t have a TON of books to read without buying more!

Enjoy your week of decorating and getting ready for Christmas. I plan to do a little bit, but mostly I’ll be sewing some gifts and getting presents ready to ship, and getting ready for our trip. Oh, and getting the Christmas letter written so we can do cards. Like you, I plan to put on the Christmas music, enjoy some nice tea, and get into the Christmas spirit!

    1. I keep thinking I’m not going to buy more books on sale, but sadly I keep adding to my books! I have a ton of books already, too!

I love listening to Christmas music…it makes everything better. I hope you get everything done you need to before you leave and that your trip goes well.

  2. Now that is a proper haul – I’m jealous! I look forward to your Liaden re-read in January 🙂

And it does feel like the countdown to Christmas is in full swing, doesn’t it??
