September 17, 2013 2013, Top Ten Tuesday 0

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme which I participate in occasionally. It’s a great meme and is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish blog. Every week a new topic is presented. It’s not only fun to think about my own list, but to read what other people come up with! This week I split up my top ten list. Five are books published this fall I hope/plan to buy and read. The other five are books already in my TBR books which I definitely plan to read this fall. Top 5 Books Published this fall I hope to buy and read! September 1. A list of the many books I’m interested in this month…some I will definitely buy…others will wait awhile or I won’t buy them at all since I already have a huge TBR pile of books (on my shelf and on my e-reader)! This creates a list for me so I hope I don’t forget authors and books I like. And I hope others will find some books they may not have thought of! » » » » » » » » » » » » September 3 I’ve been reading the October Daye series this summer since I’d fallen behind so I’m almost caught up! May 2013 Books On My Radar

May 2013 Books On My Radar

May 1, 2013 2013, Books on my radar 0

I don’t have too many books I’m excited about this month. This may change as I discover new books from other bloggers. May 7   This book is a hardcover so both the book and e-book are expensive so even though this is the final Sookie Stackhouse book I won’t buy it until the e-book is less expensive…or I will try to find it at the library. It’s hard to believe this is the last in the Sookie series. I’ve been reading them for years. I wonder what Charlaine Harris is doing next. Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris Series: Sookie Stackhouse #13 Published by Ace, hardcover Genre: Urban Fantasy… Read more »

Top Ten Tuesday–Top Ten Most Vivid Book Worlds/Settings

April 16, 2013 2013, books, Top Ten Tuesday 0

Note: I had trouble finishing up this post this morning after the terrible events in Boston yesterday. One of my daughters ran in the Boston Marathon a couple years ago so this brought back memories of my happiness for her that day with the horror of seeing those bombs go off  blanketed over those happy memories. Plus I have a nephew and his wife who just moved from Boston. My hearts go out to all the people injuried or killed yesterday, their families and to all of Boston. My thoughts are also with the police, FBI and everyone working to catch the person or person who did this: I hope… Read more »

Top Ten Books On My Spring 2013 TBR list!

Top Ten Books On My Spring 2013 TBR list!

March 12, 2013 2013, Top Ten Tuesday 0

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly Meme sponsored by The Broke and the Bookish Blog When I looked over the list of books I want to buy and read this spring I had a hard time coming up with ten books! Many of the books on my list are hardcover editions and even as e-books they are $10 or more. I only buy a few of these books each year. Usually I will wait until they come out in paperback and hope that the e-book version is also reduced. It is frustrating when the paper version of the book is less than the electronic version, but this happens quite often…. Read more »

New Beginnings…Again

February 27, 2013 2013, books, new beginnings, reviews 0

I have tried blogging in the past and not been too successful. I’ve even had a book review blog before. My problem was I felt guilty when I didn’t get a book reviewed, but I also started resenting the time I spent working on a review instead of reading. And I didn’t feel I added anything to my reviews that hadn’t been said a hundred times before. This time I plan to write mini reviews of some of the books I read. Generally, if I read a book I enjoy it. Life is too short to read or finish reading a book I don’t like. I don’t love every book… Read more »
