The list I make each month helps me not forget books. The Goodreads links help me keep track of these books and I hope people reading my post may find… Read more »

Favorite new-to-me authors

Favorite new-to-me authors

December 9, 2014 2014, Top Ten Tuesday 15

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme which I participate in when I can. It’s a great meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish blog. Every week a new topic is presented. It’s not only fun to think about my own list, but to read what other people come up with! This week we talk about our favorite new authors we read in 2014. All these authors are wonderful surprises to me and I will read more books by them in the years to come (as long as they keep writing!) And they’re in no particular order. . . . 1. John Scalzi–I read Old Man’s War in… Read more »

December 1, 2014 2014, Books on my radar 4

Each month I write about the books I’ve noticed and think might be good. Sometimes they’re from favorite authors and other times I get excited by some new author I might try. I don’t buy all the books (not during the month they’re released at least)–since I already have way too many books to read and sometimes these new books have high prices 🙁 I’m also reading more paper books these days. My library gets many of the books so I don’t have to wait for a lower price for the books! That has been great. I continue to look for e-books and audiobooks from my library, but they don’t… Read more »

Top Ten Tuesday–Memorable Secondary Characters?

Top Ten Tuesday–Memorable Secondary Characters?

August 27, 2013 2013, Top Ten Tuesday 0

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish blog. There is a new topic each week which asks each person to talk about some sort of top ten topic related to books. Go by and check it out. It’s a lot of fun to see what each blogger writes each week. I don’t participate every week, but when I can, I try to! Memorable Secondary Characters? I had a hard time remembering many secondary characters. A number of the books I listed are ones I’ve read recently and those are mostly urban fantasies. Maybe because fantasy and science fiction often have unique characters. If… Read more »
