Sunday Post: Feb 12

February 12, 2017 2017, Sunday Post 5

Sunday-Post

Kimba hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading.

Busy weeks

My husband had chemo treatments this week. He’s doing great, but it’s hard not to worry. Now he’s in the time period where he feels really tired so he’s not doing too much except rest. The doctor is doing more scans next month. Our son was still here so he helped out a lot during the chemo week. Our oldest daughter came to visit over the weekend and we had a wonderful time with all of our kids here. We went out to eat several times–celebrated my husband doing well and I had a pre-birthday celebration since the kids were all here. So fun.

This last week our son was in LA and Denver and we took care of his dog. Donnie, his mini-dachshund, missed our son and needed extra love and patience so I spent a lot of time with him on my lap which meant I didn’t get very much done–except when I went out somewhere. I had several appointments and those took most of two days. As I said, busy weeks.

Crazy weather

We had days in the 50’s and days of snow all within a couple days of each other the last couple weeks. Our snow melted very fast! Next week we’ll have more warm weather and by the weekend they’re forecasting some 60 degree days!

Blogging

Not much blogging done. Not much web surfing either. The internet was down again some. We moved the router to a more central location in the house and that seems to help. My year commitment to this internet company ends in April and I’m looking for other options.

Glad to hear that your husband is doing good!! Sounds like you had a great week with your kids, etc. Hope this week is just as good! You got some great books, I enjoyed An Accidental Death so I hope you like it.

Have a great week and happy reading!

Glad to hear your husband is responding well to the treatment, but the chemo must be rough. It must be comfort to have the family rallying round. Wishing you all the best for the coming week:).

I hope all continues to go smoothly at home, and best wishes sent to your husband! As another spouse of a husband with cancer, I applaud your determination to carry on as usual, and get things done. I fell apart…instead of reading, I ate, watched tv and slept during the worst times. Things are quiet with his health now, but we are ever vigilant.

You have some new to me titles that interest, as always. I want to pick up Rebel of the Sands, after reading another desert-set fantasy recently & enjoying it, and Nightshades (which surprises me because I’m not into UF vamp stories much, except when featured in the Patricia Briggs Mercy series). I read another blogger’s positive take on this title on GR and decided it just might be one for me.

Enjoy whatever you read, your birthday celebration, your children’s company, and your grand-dog 🙂 Have a good week, Jan.

Glad to hear your husband is doing well. I know chemo is rough stuff at the best of times but hopefully it won’t make him feel too awful. Sounds like you had a lovely time with your family and getting some mini-dachshund snuggles! I can relate to not being happy with your internet provider. Ours is not the most reliable and it drives me crazy. You got Garden of Lamentations! I desperately need to get caught up on Crombie’s books and get to this one. Have a great week!
