Sunday Post: A little cooler next week

Sunday Post: A little cooler next week

July 23, 2017 2017, Sunday Post 14

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. Home and Blog Should be a little cooler next week. Yay! I didn’t do too much this week though my Iowa daughter and I went clothes shopping on Saturday. We both needed a few new clothes and were both happy when we left the store! I also played Mah Jongg twice during the week–a good inside  air-conditioned… Read more »

Military Science Fiction The second book in the action-packed Peacekeeper series, a continuation of Tanya Huff’s military sci-fi Confederation series following Torin Kerr. Gunnery Sergeant Torin Kerr had been the very model of a Confederation Marine. No one who’d ever served with her could imagine any circumstance that would see her walking away from the Corps. Although the war is over, the fight goes on and the Justice Department finds its regular Wardens unable to deal with violence and the people trained to… Read more »

July 2017 books on my list

July 2017 books on my list

July 8, 2017 2017, books on my list . . . 6

These are the July books on my list. I keep a list of all the books I might want to read and add to it as the year goes on. As each month comes along I create a list on my blog for others and for me to keep track of as the months go by. I don’t buy all these books–since I already have way too many books to read and some of the new books are expensive. I’m trying to stick to a budget. I hope people reading my post may find some new books to read. I also hope these people will point me toward books I missed…. Read more »

Half over, half left

July 5, 2017 2017, Blog Challenges 6

Life is busy lately–nothing bad, but I haven’t gotten posts done. I’m hoping to fix that and start posting more, but our summer is a busy and wonderful time. My daughter adopted a new dog and named her Juneau. She was abandoned by someone and is a real sweetheart. Hard to imagine someone abandoning her. Bailey and Juneau seem to get along well which is really important. My daughter also got a new bike and has enjoyed biking. We have great bike trails. We’ve had a number of visitors which I love and lots of activities–barbecues, baseball games, a birthday, visiting gardens and garden centers. It’s all fun, but also… Read more »

Police procedurals I’ve recently added to my TBR pile

June 6, 2017 2017, Top Ten Tuesday 13

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted at the Broke and the Bookish blog. Each week a different topic is introduced and it is fun to see what everyone writes each week. Check out their blog for more information. This week I’m talking about the police procedurals I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. Most of these are from authors I haven’t read before. With a few I’ve read one or two books in the series. I’m always on the lookout for new police procedurals so I’ve been happy to find these to try in the last month or so. Mike Bowditch is a game warden, but I’m counting him… Read more »
