January 2017 books on my list

January 6, 2017 2017, books on my list . . . 6

These are the January 2017 books on my list. I keep a list of all the books I might want to read and add to it as the year goes on. As each month comes along I create a list on my blog for others and for me to keep track of as the months go by. I don’t buy all these books–since I already have way too many books to read and some of the new books are expensive. I’m trying to stick to a budget. I hope people reading my post may find some new books to read. I also hope these people will point me toward books… Read more »

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

January 2, 2017 2017, holidays 4

We stayed home on New Year’s Eve and our daughter came over for dinner. We watched a movie–Death at a Funeral (the 2007 British version and loved it)–and played a card game. We had lots of fun and my husband and I went to bed before midnight. I guess that’s kind of pathetic, but we don’t go out on New Year’s Eve and we usually don’t stay up until midnight. New Year’s Eve isn’t a big holiday for us. We had a very low-key day on New Year’s Day–watched a little football and ate leftovers. I started a reorganization of my craft room for the new year. ∴ I hope… Read more »

My favorite new-to-me authors

December 6, 2016 2016, Top Ten Tuesday 8

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted at the Broke and the Bookish blog. Each week a different topic is introduced and it is fun to see what everyone writes each week. Check out their blog for more information. This week I’m talking about My favorite new-to-me authors. I’ve read almost all mysteries this year and all my favorite new-to-me authors are mystery writers. That’s kind of amazing. Most of these books are also police procedurals. I’ve added two honorable mention authors and though one of those books is a science fiction dystopia it’s also a police procedural! ……………………. Favorite new-to-me authors Carlene O’Connor Ms. O’Connor wrote one of my… Read more »

This is a great meme to take part in every week and I thank Kimba for hosting it! I like this meme because it gives me an opportunity to take a look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also like to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. Home and Blog We got a tiny bit of snow last night…just enough to cover the grass. Still it is pretty with the Christmas lights on one of our fir trees in the backyard. I saw a few snowflakes this week so… Read more »

I don’t have too many books on my list this month. That’s good! Each month I list the books I think I would like to read. I don’t buy all the books (not during the month they’re released at least)–since I already have way too many books to read and some of the new books are expensive.
