November 15, 2017 2017, Can't Wait Wednesday 2

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings. This is a weekly meme to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. The books I choose aren’t released yet and usually won’t be published for at least two or three months. I love finding out about books which will publish in future months and I like to share my excitement about the books. I also like to find out about new books on other people’s blogs and hope they’ll sometimes find something to look forward to on my blog. I’m excited to read . . . Favorite surprise books of the year

Favorite surprise books of the year

November 14, 2017 2017, Tell Me Something Tuesday 3

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where a range of topics from books to blogging are discussed. This week we’re talking about the books that surprised us this year. My surprises all either turned out more interesting or slightly different than I expected. They’re usually but not always a new series I started. City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong–this was the most surprising book of the year–very unexpected I have read some of Kelley Armstrong’s fantasy so even though I read that this was a mystery I kept expecting some fantasy element. Surprises–the setting in northern Canada and the creepiness factor. I really like that setting… Read more »

I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. Home Veterans Day It was Veterans Day on Saturday which made me think of my family who’ve been in the military. I don’t have photos of all these family members, but I’ve added a few of the photos I do have. My dad and two of his three brothers were in WWII. My oldest daughter was in… Read more »

Books I hope to read this winter

Books I hope to read this winter

November 7, 2017 2017, Tell Me Something Tuesday 4

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where a wide range of topics from books to blogging are discussed. This week we’re talking about the books we want to read this Winter. All but one of these books are books on my TBR list that are already published. Most of them I already own. A few I will borrow from the library. Updated to add: Winter means December through February to me. Spring is March through May, Summer–June through August–etc. I say this because I didn’t include the books from March (by Briggs and Bishop) which I would include in a list of books I want to… Read more »

Sunday Post: November already

November 5, 2017 2017, Sunday Post 20

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. Home It’s so hard to believe it’s November already. That 2018 is just around the corner. My allergies are still bothering me and then I caught the cold my husband had. But I’m feeling better. We put up our bird feeders and have had lots of birds coming and going–blue jays, woodpeckers, goldfinches, chickadees, sparrows. We have… Read more »

November 2017 books on my list

November 2017 books on my list

November 3, 2017 2017, books on my list . . . 4

I keep a list of all the books I might want to read and add to it as the year goes on. As each month comes along I create a list on my blog for others and for me to keep track of asthe months go by. I don’t buy all these books–since I already have way too many books to read and some of the new books are expensive. I’m trying to stick to a budget. I hope people reading my post may find some new books to read. I also hope these people will point me toward books I missed. November 1 A Long Way Down by Ken… Read more »
