Sunday Post: More Autumn Rain

Sunday Post: More Autumn Rain

October 15, 2017 2017, Sunday Post 5

Kimberly hosts the Sunday Post each week. I like to take part because it gives me an opportunity to look back at last week and forward to next week in both my personal life and my blog and book life! I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. Home My daughter is out-of-town again this weekend so we’re watching her dogs and, of course, we had heavy rain and thunderstorms again on Saturday! Almost an inch of rain so the dogs didn’t go outside very much on Saturday. More mud, but I admit I don’t mind too much as I enjoy the dogs. It was… Read more »

Can’t-Wait Wednesday: Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs

October 11, 2017 2017, Can't Wait Wednesday 13

I used to take part in Waiting on Wednesday hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. I’ve decided to begin participating again, but with Can’t-Wait Wednesday hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings since the Breaking the Spine blog is no longer active. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that aren’t released yet. I love finding out about books which will publish in future months and I like to share my excitement about the books. I also like to find out about new books on other people’s blogs and hope they’ll sometimes find something to look forward to on my blog…. Read more »

Autumn book covers

Autumn book covers

October 10, 2017 2017, Top Ten Tuesday 6

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted at the Broke and the Bookish blog. Each week a different topic is introduced and it is fun to see what everyone writes. Check out their blog for more information. This week I’m showing books with Autumn covers and colors and even a few that take place during Autumn! For me the colors of the covers are what says “Autumn”  . . . the oranges and browns. Of course, trees with colored leaves, pumpkins, golden grasses all help me think of Autumn–one of my favorite times of the year. The Watership Down cover above is the cover I think of (and love) when I think… Read more »

October 2017 books on my list

October 2017 books on my list

October 6, 2017 2017, books on my list . . . 2

I keep a list of all the books I might want to read and add to it as the year goes on. As each month comes along I create a list on my blog for others and for me to keep track of as the months go by. I don’t buy all these books–since I already have way too many books to read and some of the new books are expensive. I’m trying to stick to a budget. I hope people reading my post may find some new books to read. I also hope these people will point me toward books I missed. October 3 Ironfoot by Dave Duncan Series:… Read more »

We got a pump for the pond so that is now burbling along. He built a fence around our large backyard in the spring. There was one small section where our neighbor has a chain link fence and my husband… Read more »

Favorite urban fantasies since 2015

September 26, 2017 2017, Tell Me Something Tuesday 8

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where a wide range of topics from books to blogging are discussed. This week we’re talking about our Favorite Urban Fantasies. I don’t read as many urban fantasies as I did a few years ago, but I still have a few I’m enjoying. Since I’ve written posts about urban fantasies in the past this time I’m talking about my favorites since 2015. One Good Dragon Deserves Another by Rachel Aaron Series: Heartstrikers #2 This is a self-published series and shows that an author can self-publish quality books and I hope make some money doing it. I also love to see what other people are doing and what books everyone is reading. Home and Blog Hot Autumn Equinox Autumn arrived on Friday, but it was 95 degrees here in Iowa–certainly didn’t feel like autumn! We’ve had temps in the 90’s for three or four days this week, but according to my weather app the weather should get cooler on Tuesday with a little rain and temps in the 70’s… Read more »
