Autumn book covers

October 10, 2017 2017, Top Ten Tuesday 6

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted at the Broke and the Bookish blog. Each week a different topic is introduced and it is fun to see what everyone writes. Check out their blog for more information.

This week I’m showing books with Autumn covers and colors and even a few that take place during Autumn!

For me the colors of the covers are what says “Autumn”  . . . the oranges and browns. Of course, trees with colored leaves, pumpkins, golden grasses all help me think of Autumn–one of my favorite times of the year.

The Watership Down cover above is the cover I think of (and love) when I think of Watership Down, but there are other Watership Down covers and I don’t think of Autumn at all when I see them. The cover on the left makes me think of spring–and it doesn’t make me think Watership Down–even though it’s a nice cover.

What about you? Are there book covers that make you think of Autumn–and maybe the book doesn’t even take place in Autumn?!!

Great picks! These covers all scream fall to me too. Ali Smith’s Autumn made my list this week, and I also mention The Turn of the Screw as well. Happy fall reading!

I love your choices! All the yellow/gold and orange definitely make me think fall. I haven’t read the Robyn Carr book but I love the cover and need to get around to it! We have Killer Crop in common. Wouldn’t you love to go to that harvest festival? Minus the dead bodies of course. I definitely agree on the Watership Down covers. It’s funny how different covers on the same book can convey completely different feels.
